My name is Temitope Kasali, and I am a resident of Lagos State, Nigeria. I obtained my first and second degrees in Philosophy from Lagos State University. I am driven by the belief that the future is technological, and I aspire to be a part of that innovative future. My goal is to contribute to the advancement of technology, making people’s lives easier by creating functional and enjoyable products.

Specifically, I am passionate about becoming an AI Product Manager. This ambition stems from my desire to shape the growth of technology and solve real-world problems. I firmly believe that technology has the power to transform lives, and I want to play a role in creating products that have a positive impact.

I found out about the Women Techsters Fellowship Class of 2023 training through a colleague in my postgraduate program. Knowing my interest in immersing myself in technology, he shared the registration link with me. Seeing it as a unique opportunity, I applied, and I was lucky to be selected. The training proved to be both enlightening and rejuvenating.

Embarking on my tech journey has been a mixture of challenges and excitement. I take great pride in using my tech skills and knowledge to make a difference in the lives of others. My journey has involved working on various tech projects and has led me to land my dream job. While I acknowledge that I am not where I ultimately want to be, I am grateful for the progress I have made in my journey.

One of the most significant challenges I faced was finding a Product Management position that would allow me to apply my new knowledge and skills. Despite the obstacles, I persevered and continued to learn. I applied for numerous jobs and eventually secured a position as a virtual assistant before ultimately landing my current role.

The Women Techsters Fellowship program equipped me with the necessary skill set for a Product Management role. Through various activities such as mini-projects, breakout rooms, soft skill sessions, and a capstone project with presentations, I gained valuable knowledge and experience. I had the privilege of being guided by an exceptional facilitator, Ms. Omozino Eguh.

Currently, I am putting the knowledge and skills I acquired through the Women Techsters Fellowship program to use in my position as an Associate Product Manager and Innovation Executive at iTekku. However, I view this as just the beginning, and my next step is to continue advancing my career and achieving even greater milestones.
