My name is Olowoyo Oluwaloseyi Glory, and I am from Ondo state. I am the second out of four children. I earned my first degree in Mass Communication from Lagos State University, Ojo, and currently, I am pursuing my Masters degree in Corporate Communications at Rome Business School.

I have always had an eye for aesthetics and creativity, which motivated me to take my photography and graphic design skills to a higher level by delving into Product Design (UI/UX).

In 2020, I decided to transition into tech after being inspired by a design I saw online. I faced several challenges along my tech journey, especially since I started learning on my own. Overcoming these challenges became easier when I joined the Women Techsters Bootcamp and found helpful resources on YouTube.

It was a friend of mine with whom I shared my desire to venture into tech that shared the flyer for the Bootcamp, and I decided to apply. I wanted to learn the core basics of Product Design from an expert, as I had been self-learning until then.

My experience during the program was fantastic, and I gained a wealth of knowledge. The Women Techsters Bootcamp training program was both fun and enriching, and it has significantly contributed to my career growth.

The training with Tech4Dev helped me understand various design principles that I wouldn’t have known about through self-learning. Among other things, I particularly enjoyed working on personal projects and the group project. It was a truly enjoyable experience.

During the training, I familiarized myself with tools such as Figma, AdobeXD, and Invision, which have enhanced my design skills.

The facilitator of my learning track was incredibly helpful and patient. His teachings were insightful, and I learned a lot from him. A big shoutout to Mr. Mohammed Amida.

My tech journey has been nothing short of exciting, and I am particularly proud of landing a job with CRC CREDIT BUREAU as their UI/UX designer.

Looking ahead, I am excited to explore and make an impact in the world of Product Design.

My advice to anyone willing to transition into tech is this “There are diverse and many paths you can take, in tech. Choose the path that aligns with your interests and strengths, and don’t be afraid to explore different areas within tech to find your niche. It’s an exciting field with ample opportunities for growth and innovation.”
